How much do removals in Surrey cost?

There is no single figure, because your price depends on the size of your home, the distance, the access at both ends, and how much packing you want. We give you one fixed price after a free video survey. Surrey is one of the pricier parts of the country to move in, so a genuine survey matters more here than a rough phone estimate.

Will the price change on moving day?

No. Once we have surveyed your move and given you a written price, that is what you pay. We do not add fees on the day for stairs, distance or access, because we planned for them already. The only thing that changes it is if you add items or services we did not see.

When is the cheapest time to move?

Midweek dates can sometimes be easier to book and a little cheaper, because demand is usually lower. Fridays, weekends and the end of the month are the busiest. If your dates are flexible, midweek and mid month gives you the most choice.

Two to four weeks is a good guide, and earlier for summer and school holidays. If your street needs a parking suspension, that adds lead time, so sooner is better. We still take short notice moves when a crew is free.

Often, yes, and this is where Surrey differs from a single town. Permits and bay suspensions are run by each district and borough council, Guildford, Woking, Elmbridge, Reigate and Banstead and the rest, not by one county office. Notice periods and rules vary between them. We check the right council for your address and arrange it, so the van parks legally and close.

What about narrow lanes and the Surrey Hills?

Much of the county is green belt and rural, with period homes, gravel drives and tight lanes, especially around the North Downs, Box Hill and the villages near the River Wey. A full-size lorry often cannot reach these homes, so we use smaller vans and plan the load. Just flag the access when you ask for a quote.

What about flats and new developments?

Town centres like Woking, Guildford and Weybridge have modern blocks with lifts, loading bays and allocated parking. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift, and any building rules on loading times, and we plan around them, booking the service lift where there is one.

How long will my move take?

Most local moves are a single day. A two or three bedroom home is usually loaded in the morning and unloaded by the afternoon. Bigger homes, longer distances or tricky access take longer, and we tell you what to expect when we quote.

What we can and cannot move

We move nearly everything, furniture, appliances, antiques, pianos and office equipment. For safety and the law, we cannot carry hazardous items in the van, such as petrol, gas bottles, paint and fireworks, so please drain fuel from garden tools first.
